About Us

"Proclaiming Christ to make followers of Christ."

We are a non-denominational local church in Seaford, Delaware.⛪

In October of 2018, Berean Community Church began to discuss the idea of a church plant in the Seaford area to bring the hope of the Gospel through the Great Commission.

On January 3rd, 2021, Hope Bible Church held our first Sunday morning worship service.

Since our first Sunday in Seaford, we have prioritized the Word of God in the pulpit through careful, verse-by-verse, expository preaching.

Our Core Values

01

EVANGELISM

We value evangelism because we believe that the Lord called the church to be witnesses to the world of God’s good news—the gospel. Namely, Christ came into the world to save sinners from the judgement to come. We believe person is saved by believing the gospel. We believe the person who hears the gospel and repents of their sin, that is abandon their lifestyle of sin and surrender their life to Christ by placing saving faith in Christ will have their sins forgiven and everlasting life. Their faith will be credited as righteousness and they will be reconciled to God the Father and given the gift of the Holy Spirit enjoying the benefits of the New Covenant. They will make their conversion known by water baptism and membership in the church. The church’s primary mission is making followers of Christ by making Christ known to all the world. This means proclaiming the gospel. First locally, then reverberated to all the world (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:45-47; Acts 1:8).

INSTRUCTION

We value instruction because we believe that one of the added benefits that comes with being a follower of Christ is learning what it means to follow Christ. In other words, the person is transformed and enters a new relationship with God and therefore must know God, His will, and His way. The means that God has provided for this is the Word of God—the Bible. The Bible, we value as the supreme, authoritative, inerrant, inspired, infallible, holy Scripture, that is perfect for teaching, counseling, singing, correction, proclaiming (preaching), and for training in righteousness. We believe and value the Bible as the time-tested product of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the meaning of the Scripture is to be explained clearly. By this, the Holy Spirit governs the church and the believer for edification for a life of faithfulness and godliness and gives the enablement to obey Christ’s commands (Psalm 19:7-14; Is 40:7; 66:2; Jer. 9:23,24; Matthew 4:4; Col 3:16; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Heb 4:12; 2 Peter 1:21).

03

FELLOWSHIP

We value fellowship because we believe that another added benefit to joining the church is the reality of a new identity amongst a gathering of other followers of Christ. This gathering of Christ followers is called the church—a new, living organism that loves Christ and each other. We believe we are unified to Christ and to each other and we value this unity. This is the significance of membership. We Believe all followers have the same common interest and goal to live for Him, and for His glory. We value the practice of the one-another’s that is mentioned in the Bible which holds each believer accountable to the Lord and to one-another. We value water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s supper. By doing this, followers of Christ will be displaying their love and allegiance to the gospel of God (Acts 2:42; 1 Cor 1:9; 2 Cor 13:14; Eph 4:17-32; Phil 2:1; Col 3:1-17; 1 John 1:3, 7).

04

SERVICE

We value service to one another which is another added benefit of being a follower of Christ and is the joy of serving the Lord. The way we serve the Lord is by serving one-another (members) in the church. Since Christ is the head of the church and His body is the church, it contains many members to do the work of the Lord here on earth. We believe and value each believer’s gift that is used to edify the church for it to grow into maturity and to fulfill the mission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Rom 12:1-7; 1 Cor 12:1, 4; Eph 4:12; Col. 3:1-17; 1 Pet 4:10-11; Heb 13:15-17).

05

WORSHIP

We value worship. We believe the chief end of the church is to worship God and enjoy Him forever. We value our purpose which is to glorify God in all that we do. We believe worship is not just expressed only through music, but in prayer, the preaching of the word, obedience to the word, singing, baptism, the Lord’s supper, membership, the use of spiritual gifts, church discipline, and making disciples. Worship is the uppermost act the people of God--the church--can attribute to the One True and Living God of Scripture, who alone is the Sovereign Creator worthy of all praise, majesty, honor, riches, and glory. Worship is the eternal act for God’s church (John 14:21; Rom 12:1-2; Eph 5:19-20; Phil 3:3; Col. 3:16-17; Heb 13:15-17; James 1:22; 1 John 5:1-3).
