Wedding Procedures & Policies

We are delighted that you are considering Hope Bible Church for your wedding ceremony and reception. We at Hope Bible Church believe marriage is one of God’s greatest blessings that He created for mankind. Marriage is enthroned at the summit of God’s creation when He instituted it to be between one man and one woman for the purpose of being joined together in a holy union. This is God’s divine design and points to the Gospel (Gen. 2:21-24; Eph. 5:31-32). Therefore, we at Hope Bible Church desire to honor God and His design by esteeming marriage very highly by implementing and adhering to the following Procedures and Policies:

  • The bride and groom considering a wedding ceremony at Hope Bible Church must submit a completed Marriage Request Form to the church office. After review by the elders, the individual or couple will be contacted by the elders with approval, denial, and next steps.

  • The bride and groom must agree with and adhere to our Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality (see our website under the “About” section). They must also be members in good standing at Hope Bible Church, not be under church discipline, participate and complete premarital counseling at Hope Bible Church, and agree to meet with a designated married couple for regular discipleship.

  • Premarital counseling is required through HBC. If the couple received premarital counseling outside of Hope Bible Church, they and the participating counselor must submit a letter of completion to the elders of Hope Bible Church and adhere to our Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality and these Wedding Procedures and Policies.

  • All weddings performed at Hope Bible Church will be officiated by the pastor(s) of Hope Bible Church who are ordained, licensed, commissioned, or authorized by the elders of Hope Bible Church. A pastor outside of Hope Bible Church who is to officiate the wedding ceremony at Hope Bible Church must adhere to our Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality and these Wedding Procedures and Policies and receive written permission from the elders of Hope Bible Church.

  • Individuals or couples who are not members of Hope Bible Church considering a wedding ceremony at Hope Bible Church are liable to pay fees that will be determined based on building use, church resources, and other gratuities (musicians, audio/video, catering, etc.).

Final approval of the marriage request and permission to proceed is granted by the elders of Hope Bible Church.
